 | | Glasgow
A day trip to Glasgow thanks to 'The Sun' 2 for 1 rail offer. A day spent on the Roundabout ticket travelling to such far flung destinations as Whifflet, Paisley, Partick and of course, Glasgow Central.
|
 | | GCR 60's Gala
Shots of most of the traction running at the Great Central that day including the 101, D123, D5401 & D5830. I've tried a few different locations this time because I was convinced there were other places on that line you could get to without a hi-vis!

Welcome to Midlands Rail Photos.
Firstly I'd like to thank a few people...
Scott. I found him over a year ago, wagon bashing at the end of Water Orton station.
Nah thats a lie, he doesnt swing that way.
I digress. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't be the photographer I am today nor would I have gone to half the places I've ended up at. Almost everywhere I've been since Januray 2008, he's been there(though I'm normally half a mile away in a field), keeping me entertained during the long and frequent quiet spells on our railways;).
I'd also like to thank Matt. He's organised some great days out and continues to do so. He's the master of the timetable.

The Photographer:
Andrew is the name. It all started down at Birmingham Airport surprisingly, with planes holding all my interest at first, but those electrics racing up and down through nearby Marston Green soon made my hobby change direction forever. I bought my first camera, a 2mp Olympus when I was 15 and spent many hours down at Water Orton and Marston Green, poorly photographing trains I would die to see nowadays. After around a year with that camera, I managed to lose all my photos thanks to a crashed computer. A loss which I still lament to this day. I then bought a 3mp Sony which follwed me on some of my best railway days over the course of a year. Following on from that came the 7mp Canon A620 which never really saw much use due to me doing the whole teenager thing for awhile, hence the obvious lack of photos during 2007. Then for christmas in 2008 I finally got my first DSLR, the Canon 400D, which really got me back into the swing of things. Not long after I met Scott and from there my passion for photography has gone from strength to strength and here I am today with photography now my main career choice.
Congratulations if you've got this far, now onwards to the photos! |
